The Milford Road is an alpine route and conditions can change quickly, particularly during winter. Snow, ice, rain and avalanche risk can affect travel.
Always check the latest road conditions before departure.
There are also limited facilities between Te Anau and Milford Sound, so we recommend carrying food, water and appropriate clothing.
